Abstract:
The Texas A&M Transportation Institute was awarded a project by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to identify potential underreporting of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashes, as well as practices to improve CMV crash reportuing in Texas. This project consisted of a data analysis, focus groups with law enforcement officers and other data stakeholders, and the development of educational materials. The purpose of this document is to outline the best practices identified throughout the project for CMV crash reporting in Texas. The intended audience for this report are law enforcement officers and their agencies.
