Abstract
This is an attempt to isolate, measure, and analyze some of the effects that the construction of the Interstate Highway System has had on a local area. The area considered here is a section along IH 35 in the northern part of Austin, Texas. It is composed of a strip approximately one mile in width which extends from the intersection with U. S. 290 north to Walnut Creek, a distance of some five miles.|The area included in this study has shown evidence of continued economic growth and change since this study was completed. Additional data are being gathered concerning these growth patterns and will be treated at a later date.
