Abstract
This report presents the findings of a study of land values and land use along a 5.4-mile section of Dallas' Central Expressway. The "before-and-after" approach was used in the study with comparative control areas to isolate the expressway's influence. Three bands of properties on either side of the facility were selected for study. Each of these bands was subdivided in several ways, the two most important divisions being portions annexed to the city before 1941 and portions annexed in 1946. Land prices, tax valuations, and land use were included in the study.|Also obtained were the attitudes and general characteristics of businessmen and residents along the facility.
