Dr. Bryan Wilson has been involved in the pavement industry in Utah and Texas since 2007, and has been a full-time researcher with the Texas A&M Transportation Institute since 2011. He leads the Pavement Management Group within the Materials and Pavements Division at TTI. His research focus is the reduction of wet-weather accidents through the design, implementation, and testing of pavement surfaces. He has evaluated several friction-enhancing safety treatments and also rumble strips to mitigate run-off-the road accidents. Dr. Wilson also researches innovative asphalt construction techniques and quality assurance/control methods. He has helped draft test methods and refined material specifications which have been adopted by the sponsoring agency.
Dr. Wilson has done work for several state departments of transportation, including Utah, Texas, Florida, and Ohio. He has also worked with the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies. In addition to sponsor project reports, he has authored and co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists and a registered professional engineer in Texas (License #126948).
