Jorge Maldonado is a Computer Science Engineer and a Full-Stack Software Applications Developer at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. His major areas of expertise include developing software applications and information systems for the world wide web, database management, mobile applications development, and virtual reality software development.

For software applications development for the world wide web, his primary experience lies with the ASP.NET framework, including C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX, and RESTful services, as well as PostgreSQL and SQL Server for database management. For mobile and virtual reality software development, he has experience using Xamarin, .NET Maui, and Unity 3D.

At TTI, Mr. Maldonado has worked on a research project that analyses and identifies spatial and temporal trends in the occurrence of crashes on Texas highways, focusing on potential environmental factors; and that focuses on the guidance for the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) during suboptimal environmental conditions for traffic incident management initiatives.

Currently, Mr. Maldonado works on the development of a web -based software application for the Corpus Christi district for automating the process to request traffic signs and supply necessary information in a more efficient and transparent way. Additionally, he is also working on the development of a system that will track the process of requesting permits to construct access driveway facilities on highway right of way at the Laredo District, easing the interaction between the staff of the district and the users who request these permits.
