Tyler Theobald serves as chief financial officer and division head of the Financial Services Division at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). He leads the Institute’s fiscal operations, including financial reporting, the annual agency budget and programmatic budget review, the biennial legislative appropriation request, and a wide range of fiscal processing functions.
His journey in transportation began as a student bus driver at Texas A&M Transportation Services, where he gained firsthand insight into the importance of efficient transportation systems. While pursuing his degree at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, he discovered a passion for accounting and finance and was accepted into the Professional Program of Accounting. There, he developed a strong foundation in business operations, fiscal responsibility and strategic problem-solving.
Mr. Theobald launched his professional career at Ernst & Young in the Dallas office, first as an intern and later as a staff auditor in external audits. He then transitioned to the Texas A&M Forest Service, serving as treasury and accounts receivable supervisor in the Budgets and Accounting Department. He joined TTI in 2015 and has since held several key financial roles, including accounting supervisor, controller and assistant chief financial officer.
