Rubiana L. Mares, M.Ed., is a Program Specialist III with the Youth Transportation Safety (YTS) program at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), where she leads all major events and initiatives, ensuring their success and long-lasting impact. With nearly 20 years of experience dedicated to empowering youth through education and leadership, Rubiana has built a distinguished career focused on strategic recruitment, program development, community outreach, and event management.
Over the past decade, she has specialized in traffic safety, with a focus on youth and young adults. She serves as the regional representative for South Texas and multiple other states across the U.S., where she works closely with students and educators to advance the YTS mission. As the leader of the Teen Advisory Board for the Teens in the Driver Seat® program, she empowers young leaders to become advocates for safer roadways.
Ms. Mares has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator on numerous national projects, including projects in Texas, Georgia, and Nebraska. She currently serves as Board President of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) San Antonio Area Chapter.
A proud Texas A&M University graduate, Rubiana holds a Master of Education in Higher Education. She is also a Certified Peer Program Educator and Certified Government Meeting Professional. Her passion for empowering communities and fostering safer transportation practices has been a defining hallmark of her career.
