Joel Ben is a Lead Data Analyst in the Data and Spatial Analytics Program at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), where he conducts applied transportation research to support transportation planning, design, and policy initiatives.

His expertise lies in transforming connected vehicle data into policy-relevant insights through advanced geospatial analytics and statistical modeling. Supporting decision-making for a broad range of public-sector stakeholders, Joel Ben provides rigorous, impartial analysis using the latest methods in data science.

In his time at TTI, Joel Ben has worked on a variety of projects involving mobility, roadway safety, and infrastructure design and management. With strong foundations in Python coding, GIS applications, and research methods, his diverse skillset supports the design and execution of custom analyses, end-to-end data pipelines, and advanced geospatial visualizations for applied transportation research.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Louisville and is a two-time recipient of the Herbert H. Richardson Team Award for outstanding collaborative research. He currently is pursuing a Master's of Science in Analytics (Data Science) at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

In his spare time, he enjoys running, spectating European soccer, adventurous travel, and time spent with friends and family.
