Dr. Jianbang Du is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Environmental Modeling Group at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). His current research focuses on mobile-source air pollution and the development and application of emission inventory models using localized modeling parameters. Dr. Du earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from Texas Southern University, as well as dual master’s degrees in Environmental Toxicology from Texas Southern University and Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University. He brings over 10 years of research experience in areas including on-road vehicle emission data collection using Portable Automatic Measurement Systems (PAMS), multi-model transportation network emission analysis, and local emission inventory modeling using the EPA’s MOVES model.

Dr. Du has served as editorial manager for Transportation Research Part D and the Applied Soft Computing Journal, and as a guest editor for the journal Sustainability. His broad research interests encompass air pollution modeling, emission inventories, vehicle emissions assessment and monitoring as well as transportation safety at roadway and rail crossings, and the integration of intelligent transportation systems.
