Dr. Limon Barua is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Emissions and Energy Modeling Program at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2023, where he also completed his M.Sc. in the same field in 2020.
Dr. Barua’s research focuses on sustainable transportation, vehicle emissions modeling, electric vehicle infrastructure, and data-driven energy solutions. He has extensive experience in transportation system analysis, urban travel forecasting, and the application of machine learning to solve complex transportation and infrastructure challenges. He has worked on projects related to electric vehicle charging demand, truck platooning, and airport pavement management.
He has published widely in the areas of transportation sustainability, logistics, and infrastructure management, and has presented his research at national and international conferences, including the Transportation Research Board Annual Meetings.
