Kathy has over 25 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining software for transportation operations platforms. While at TTI, Kathy has been a key contributor to a team involved in the design and implementation of the software responsible for running many Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS) and Advanced Transportation Management Systems (ATMS) including those at Houston TranStar, the multi-agency transportation and emergency management center, and on the I-35 corridor between San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth. Kathy is the primary software developer on the planned lane closure data entry system which is responsible for the storage and dissemination of hundreds of daily lane closures across the state of Texas.
Kathy has recently been involved in the development of an Incident Impact Visualization Tool for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The system synthesizes large incident and traffic flow data sets to estimate the impact of roadway incidents on travel delay. The system presents this information to stakeholders on an interactive, web-based mapping framework.
Kathy is also in the process of developing a backend and web-based tool that reconciles disparate 911 roadway event data across multiple agencies and regions into a single system. The system downloads, categorizes, and archives 911 roadway event data from participating agencies throughout Texas. The information is then displayed on a web-based dashboard and interactive web map in a common format.
