Bill Prieto is an Associate Transportation Researcher with the Investment Analysis Group of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Before joining TTI in 2019, Mr. Prieto earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree from the University of North Texas, where he researched surface catalysts for converting biomass into fuel. He went on to earn his Master of Public Administration degree from the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M. His studies at The Bush School followed the policy analysis track with a concentration in energy and environmental policy.
Since joining TTI, Mr. Prieto has worked on projects involving policy analysis, transportation finance and economics, and data visualization. His work covers topics such as statewide and national transportation funding programs, freight movement, autonomous transportation technologies, urban air mobility, and alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure policy. He supports the IIA program with producing reports and preparing data for economic impact and benefit-cost analysis, aviation financing, and road user charges projects. Additionally, his knowledge of GIS has allows him to create mapping visualizations and conduct spatial analysis such as evaluating the impact of road projects on property values in metropolitan areas or creating railroad incident maps for state use.
