Mr. L.D. White is a Research Specialist V in the Data Analytics and Visualization Program in the Mobility Division at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), a part of The Texas A&M University System.  He has over 22 years of experience as a researcher at TTI, involving a wide range of topics from air quality and emissions modeling to most recently transportation planning. He has leveraged his prior experience to focus on interactive data visualization, data analysis tools, and overall data development (including passive data and data fusion) to assist in roadway performance monitoring, freight, and transportation planning as a whole. In addition, his primary areas of research include leading teams developing transportation planning tools, the role of passive data in transportation planning, travel surveys, and commercial vehicles/freight.

Prior to joining the Transportation Planning Program at TTI, L.D. served a key function in the Transportation Modeling Program at TTI for over 17 years. During that time, he was responsible for the development and maintenance of TTI’s on-road mobile source emissions inventory related utilities. He was also responsible for developing link-level vehicle miles of travel (VMT) and speed estimates used in the on-road mobile emissions inventory process, as well as other aspects of on-road mobile emissions inventory development
