Ross Taylor is a Research Specialist III with 10 years of experience at TTI. He has over 5 years’ experience evaluating full depth reclamation (FDR) materials, focusing primarily on foamed asphalt, emulsified asphalt, and cement treatments. Ross has experience with nondestructive testing, selecting roadway sampling locations to capture site variability, laboratory mixture design, and field construction. Ross has helped evaluate more than 300 FDR mixture designs in the laboratory, representing over 50 different materials combinations from more than 20 different real-world pavement sections. He also has experience developing and conducting training, outreach, and technical support materials. In TxDOT Projects 5-6271-03 and 0-7027, he helped develop and deliver mixture design workshops on indirect-tension (IDT)-based mixture design for FDR materials. Ross also has assisted in developing implementable product deliverables. In TxDOT Project 0-6880 he developed an FDR Project Development Checklist for Foamed Asphalt or Asphalt Emulsion Treatment, and in TxDOT Project 46 6MTIA015 he developed Construction Specification Test Report templates for use in Owner- and Contractor-required construction testing; these Excel templates include the required testing to support TxDOT Special Specifications 3088 and 3089 for foamed asphalt and emulsified asphalt treatment, respectively. In TxDOT Project 49 2MTIA009 he developed Foamed Asphalt and Emulsified Asphalt Mixture Design templates for use in designing and testing FDR mixtures; these Excel templates support the required testing, calculations, and reporting necessary to produce mixture designs in accordance with Tex-134-E and Tex-122-E. Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
