Short Biography

Dr. Dadashova is an interdisciplinary research scientist at Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), with six years of qualifying experience in emerging transportation technologies and data analytics. Her research focuses on linking the built environment and transportation infrastructure with highway safety, mobility, operation, public health outcomes and equity. She has significantly contributed to this research area by developing concepts and methodologies, research tools, guidelines, and supervising and mentoring graduate students. She has been a (Co-)Principal Investigator in 14 research projects that have attracted approximately $3 million in funding from diverse sources such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The results of her research have been published and implemented on a national and state level. She was part of the task order preparing a report to the Congress on roadway and roadside safety improvements for commercial motor vehicles. She was also part of the task order developing the second edition of the Highway Safety Manual, where she provided assistance as a subject matter expert in statistical and econometric models.

Dr. Dadashova has published 30 original research articles and technical reports. She is actively involved in professional organizations such American Statistical Association (ASA), Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), IEEE, Royal Statistics Society (RSS), and Transportation Research Board (TRB). She is the current co-chair of the TRB Bicycle Research Subcommittee (ACH20) and an active friend of several other committees.
