Short Biography

Mr. Koeneman retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years, during which time he served in various roles.  The first part of his career he served as an F/A-18D Weapons & Sensors Officer and in the latter part served as an analyst assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps.  As an analyst he worked with large Manpower and Personnel datasets to gain insight on high visibility issues such as Force Reduction / Drawdown (Sequestration), Don’t Ask / Don’t Tell, and Sexual Assault in the Military using modeling tools and optimization, as well as conducting survey and other statistical analyses.

Since joining TTI in November 2014 he has been active on multiple projects involving data exploration, analysis, and calculating transportation performance measurements.

-FHWA: Freight Mobility Measures Dashboard a project to evaluate and update freight performance measures and a visualization tool for FHWA’s Office of Operations, Freight Management and Operations

-FHWA CFLHD/National Park Service: Traffic Detector Data Analysis

-FHWA: Urban Congestion Report and Urban Congestion Trends

-Maricopa Area of Governments: Bottleneck Analysis

-Support for Urban Mobility Analysis (SUMA): FHWA Pooled Fund providing technical assistance, along with a team of researchers, on mobility and reliability performance measures, data and issues, including freight for over 20 state DOTs and MPOs

-FHWA: National Performance Management Research Data Set (NPMRDS)

-FHWA: Alternative Methods for Determining AADT Estimates

-Transport Canada: Freight Corridor Performance
