Short Biography

Cathy Brooks is a Project Specialist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, (TTI), Center for Transportation Safety, Road User Safety Program. She comes to TTI with 20 years of experience in the motorcycle safety training industry, nationwide. She brings a safety training and adult education perspective to motorcycle related projects, education, and outreach efforts. Since joining TTI she has helped in developing and conducting surveys and collected data for driving environment simulator studies. She helps lead the Texas Motorcycle Safety Coalition and its Task Force as well as the annual Statewide Motorcycle Safety Forum. She is passionate about reducing motorcyclist crashes, injuries, and fatalities through motorist outreach and education to safely interact with motorcyclists as well as encouraging motorcyclist to take responsibility for safety on the roads by making choices to reduce risk; being trained, licensed, wearing proper gear, and riding unimpaired.
