Garrett Dorsett received his BS and MS from Texas A&M University and is currently an Associate Transportation Researcher at TTI. In this position he is involved in data collection, analysis, and material sampling as well as pavement structural testing and analysis. Garrett specializes in non-destructive pavement testing and unbound material characterization. He is familiar with falling weight deflectometer (FWD), lightweight deflectometer (LWD), ground penetrating radar (GPR), dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP), and traffic speed deflection devices (TSDD) technology to evaluate in-situ pavement structural conditions. Garrett continues to work closely with TxDOT and other research organizations to validate TSDD data and generate best practices for TSDD testing and data analysis for use in pavement design and rehabilitation.

Garrett has worked to apply this specialization to develop a methodology to provide load rating figures for the Texas general aviation airport system. He is familiar with the FAA's FAARFIELD pavement design software, the aircraft classification rating and pavement classification rating (ACR/PCR) design methodology, as well as FAA Advisory Circulars related to the design, construction, and maintenance of airport pavements.
