TTI employees have access to a web-based repository of transportation-related and internal TTI employee photos. These images can be downloaded to your computer or shared with colleagues outside the agency (e.g., TxDOT).
TTI’s Digital Image Archive consists of a growing database that contains over 38,000 transportation and 12,000 Institute-related photographs to date. The archive is fast becoming an essential resource for employees. Available to anyone, the photographs will help with reports, presentations and internal documents. All images in the database contain a copyright watermark.
“Over the last year, we have seen the Digital Image Archive grow in popularity,” says Business Administrator Michelle Williams, who oversees the project maintaining and increasing the size of the repository. “We really needed one place where employees could find that much-needed photo.”
TTI and TxDOT have been working together to develop the Transportation Research Image catalog. TTI users can log on to the database by accessing the TTI Marketing page on MyTTI. Under the TTI Photo Database heading on the right, click on Access the TTI Photo Database to go directly to the archive or TTI Photo Database Instructions to learn how to use the database.
A shared single-user ID and password is available to all TTI employees. If a user would like to build and save a private collection, they will need to obtain their own logon ID, provided by Williams. Users can build and save a collection and email a link to the selected images to anyone. “The email recipient has the ability to download the selected images without having to logon to the database,” Williams says. “I will gladly walk you through the process.”
The Digital Image Archive is constantly growing with new photographs. In fact, if you have images you would like to include in the archive, please contact Williams at (979) 862-3212 or email@example.com. In addition to still photos, the archive is currently being populated with Institute-produced videos, which will be available for viewing soon.
