Abstract
The Texas Freight Mobility Plan forecasts significant increases in freight volumes across all transportation modes over the next three decades. During this time frame, an increased frequency of extreme weather events such as prolonged droughts and flash flooding is also expected. Repeated severe flash flooding across the state has shown how vulnerable Texas's freight and transportation assets are to extreme weather events.
This TTI Final Report discusses the basic issues, impacts, and current best practices to address the vulnerability of critical freight infrastructure to these extreme weather events.
