TTI Associate Research Scientist Suzie Edrington has been named to the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA’s) Transit Development Corporation Board. The appointment automatically makes her a member of the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Oversight and Project Selection Committee.
The Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee “develops near-term, practical solutions to problems facing transit agencies” and is responsible for deciding which research projects will receive funding. She attended her first TCRP meeting June 23–24, in Irvine, California.
“I was thrilled and surprised about the appointment to the board, and I’m honored to be associated with such a prominent group, most of whom are high-ranking members of transit agencies across the country,” Edrington says.
Edrington becomes the first TTI employee to be appointed to the APTA Transit Development Corporation board. She has 26 years of transportation-related experience, including 16 years with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County. She has served on various TRB committees, including the Paratransit, Rural Public and Intercity Bus Transportation and Accessible Transportation and Mobility committees.
