Navigating the complex web of resources for motorcycle licensing and safety training just got easier for Texans. The Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s (TTI’s) has launched a new website designed to be a resource for riders and instructors.
Motorcyclists in Texas often face challenges when trying to find accurate and up-to-date information about training, licensing and safety. Previously, this information was scattered across various websites, making it difficult to locate specific details. Whether you’re a rider looking to get or renew your motorcycle (Class M) license, an aspiring instructor or an existing instructor seeking to renew your license, the new website serves as a centralized hub to meet all these needs.
“Creating this website was a necessary step in supporting the motorcycling community in Texas,” says TTI Project Specialist III Cathy Brooks. “We listened to the feedback from users who expressed frustration with the scattered nature of the information. Our goal was to make the search for information as seamless as possible, so riders and instructors can focus more on their passion for motorcycling and less on searching for information. We are just getting started with more to come.”
The development of this website was made possible through a contract with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. TTI’s Road User Safety Program worked with TTI’s Web and Graphics Teams to create a user-friendly platform that consolidates essential information and provides direct links to relevant sections of existing websites for both riders and instructors. Focus groups were held, and extensive user experience and user interface design testing was performed to ensure users could easily digest and navigate the information provided.
