The Hon. Greg Winfree, agency director of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), was recently appointed chairman of the Board of Directors for the Resilient Navigation and Timing (RNT) Foundation. The RNT Foundation is a public benefit, scientific and educational charity advocating for policies and systems to protect GPS and GNSS satellites, signals and users.
Prior to assuming the role of TTI agency director, Winfree worked as corporate counsel for Fortune 500 companies and a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice. From 2010 to 2016, he served as assistant secretary for research and technology for the U.S. Department of Transportation. In addition to leading TTI, Winfree is an adjunct professor at the Texas A&M University School of Law and serves as a member of the President’s National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Advisory Board, as well as on the Board of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America.
Having been a director and board member of the RNT Foundation since 2020, Winfree succeeds the Hon. Martin Faga as chairman.
