Sandra Rodriguez, Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) project manager III, has been promoted to program manager of the new Transportation Programming and Portfolio Management Program, effective Sept. 1, 2023.
Rodriguez earned her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, with a major in sociology and a minor in mathematics. In 2014, Rodriguez joined TTI as a research specialist focusing on travel behavior survey design and methods, data collection, data analysis, data visualization, programming, project management and technology. In addition, Rodriguez collaborated closely with multiple divisions within the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), including the Unified Transportation Program (UTP) where she provided data analysis, data visualization, portfolio management, quality control tools and documentation for the project scoring process.
“Over almost a decade, I’ve had the privilege to witness how Sandra grew a one-person technical support assignment to TxDOT’s UTP into a fully funded and sustainable team focused on transportation programming and portfolio management,” notes Jolanda Prozzi, TTI senior research scientist and head of TTI’s Multimodal Planning & Environment Division. “This new program is a testament to Sandra and her team’s work ethic, high standards and devotion to customer service.”
At TTI, Rodriguez has served as a principal investigator on multiple projects, including TxDOT’s Professional Engineering Procurement Services and for the Design Division. Rodriguez has also been an active member of the Transportation Research Board and the American Association for Public Opinion Research. Rodriguez is currently pursuing her master’s of science degree in business analytics at the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.
“Being promoted has allowed me to reach another key milestone in my career. I’m very excited to work with the Transportation Programming and Portfolio Management Program members and to continue to provide quality work and support.” says Rodriguez. “I want to thank my TTI family, especially my manager Jolanda Prozzi, for providing an environment in which I felt I could grow and to my family and friends for their continued support.”
On behalf of TTI, congratulations to Sandra on reaching this tremendous milestone. The Institute is excited to see what the new Transportation Programming and Portfolio Management Program will achieve under her guidance.
