TRB Webinar Highlights TTI Asphalt Research

April 26, 2016

At the request of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) researchers conducted a webinar surrounding their work on aging asphalt mixtures and applications for foamed asphalt — both National Cooperative Highway Research Program projects.

The April 7 webinar Short Term Conditioning of Asphalt Mixtures and Properties of Foamed Asphalt was conducted by David Newcomb, head of TTI’s Materials and Pavement Division, Associate Research Engineer Edith Arambula and Post-Doctoral Research Associate Fan Yin.

“We are highlighted with the research and what came from it,” Newcomb says. “One study included a larger field study concerning short-term plant aging and longer-term field asphalt aging, and the other one focused on determining the correct water content for foamed asphalt mixtures.”

The TRB webinars are designed to share results of the latest research findings so that practitioners can apply the results to their work.
