Short Biography
Duane Wagner currently holds the position of director of the Facilities, Safety and Support Services Division at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) and serves as an assistant agency director on the Directors Advisory Council. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Systems Management.
As a college student, Mr. Wagner gained hands-on experience by working summers at the Texas Department of Transportation’s Yoakum District 13 Traffic Shop, where he acquired a broad knowledge of pavements and materials, bridges, heavy equipment and traffic signal controls.
Following his graduation, Duane served as a senior research associate at the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station’s Food Protein Research and Development Center (formerly the Riverside Campus, now Texas A&M-RELLIS). In June 2004, he joined TTI as the agency's first facilities coordinator.
In his current role, Mr. Wagner oversees the management of over 300,000 square feet of TTI facilities spread across seven locations in the State of Texas. He actively participates in various committees at the RELLIS campus and has been instrumental in several major building projects, including the Environmental and Emissions Research Facility, the brand-new Grid Interactions Research Facility, the Sediment and Erosion Control Laboratory, both TTI Headquarters on campus and at the RELLIS campus, as well as the Center for Infrastructure Renewal.
Mr. Wagner’s extensive experience and dedication to maintaining TTI's facilities ensure that the institute operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting its mission of advancing transportation research and innovation.
