Short Biography

Tian Huang is a Research Scientist of the Travel Analysis Program of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) in Bryan, Texas. She has over 16 years of experience with a focus on travel demand modeling, planning, and demographic forecasting. She has led an array of diverse transportation projects, including regional multi-modal transportation systems plan, highway and transit corridor analyses, and multi-modal freight transport analysis. She has advanced practice expertise in statewide and urban travel demand modeling, encompassing every phase of model development, from estimation and calibration of multimodal models to applying these models for planning analysis and designing of user-friendly interface tools. Her expertise extends to discrete choice models and survey research, with applications in mode choice, location choice, and travel attitude studies. Her work with various surveys, such as NHTS, TXDOT household surveys, has contributed to the development of many urban models. She played a pivotal role in creating a national long distance travel model for Arkansas high speed rail study and led the development of the Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas Statewide Models. Presently, her focus revolves around household travel survey analysis and leveraging emerging data sources to enhance travel demand models.
