Short Biography

 

Ms. Debbie Albert is a Traffic Engineer with over 20 years of municipal traffic engineering experience.  Since joining TTI in the summer of 2020, Ms. Albert is supporting TxDOT Clear Lanes evaluation research and transportation operations projects for Texas A&M University Transportation Services. 

Prior to becoming a member of TTI’s Mobility Analysis Program, she held various traffic engineering and transportation planning positions with the City of Glendale in Arizona.  Most recently, she served as the City Traffic Engineer providing management and direction for all traffic engineering and operations functions as well as coordinating regional transportation projects affecting the city.   

During her tenue with Glendale, Ms. Albert also led projects in the areas of intelligent transportation systems, public engagement and special event traffic management.  Specifically, she was responsible for development and implementation of a citywide intelligent transportation system including over 100 miles of fiber optic cable, 130 closed circuit television cameras, 14 dynamic message signs and a state-of-the-art traffic management center.  She coordinated the transportation management and public communications plans for a 17,000+ seat hockey arena anchoring a $1 Billion mixed-use development entertainment, dining and retail development, a spring training baseball stadium and large (up to 78,000 fans) sporting and special events at State Farm Stadium, hosting Arizona Cardinals football games, Fiesta Bowl and College Football Championship playoff games, and the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl games.  Over her 20-year career, she also engaged the public on neighborhood traffic concerns, specific projects including planning for a light rail transit line and through various city Boards and Commissions.
