Mr. Chaoyi Gu is an Assistant Research Engineer in the Emissions and Energy Modeling Program of the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Mr. Gu has more than 10 years of overall experience in the field of transportation air quality, including on-road mobile source emissions modeling, non-road source emissions modeling, emission hot-spots analysis, congestion mitigation and air quality (CMAQ) analysis and emissions impact studies on border crossing vehicle activities.
Mr. Gu has a diverse and interdisciplinary background in emission modeling in transportation research. He has led in multiple projects sponsored by TxDOT and TCEQ. His research interests include emission inventory quantification utilities, MOVES based modeling trends and sensitivity analysis, innovative data application in on-road mobile source emission and energy modeling.
Mr. Gu has published over 20 original research papers and technical reports. Mr. Gu earned a B.S in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University, China, and an M.S. in Civil (Transportation) Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is also a licensed professional engineer (PE) in Texas since 2017.
