Short Biography

Merrick (Rick) Lloyd is an Assistant Transportation Researcher in the Investment Analysis Program at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). His research focuses on rail safety and transportation economics.

Mr. Lloyd is collaborating with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to enhance the accessibility of rail safety data for state inspectors, aiming to streamline safety assessments and improve oversight efficiency. He also produces national and state-level reports analyzing macroeconomic impacts on transportation planning.

Mr. Lloyd holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Texas A&M University. Before joining TTI, he worked in economic consulting, where he used his analytical skills to forecast economic growth for financial investors and executives.
