Short Biography
Ms. Thomas joined the Institute in 1987 and serves as the Senior Administrative Coordinator for the North Texas Research and Implementation Group in the TTI-Arlington office.
She has considerable knowledge in travel planning, purchasing, financial project management, report preparation, and graphics design and currently assists with the financial project management of two interagency contracts with the Texas Department of Transportation, as well as research projects funded through various sources. She is responsible for the day-to-day tracking of all expenditures, as well as the monthly reconciliation of expenditures, and the preparation of the monthly payroll. Christy also serves as the Accountable Property Officer for the Arlington office, overseeing a large inventory of computer, video, and traffic-related equipment and serves as the office security contact.
Christy provides support to the Public Information Offices of the Fort Worth and Dallas Districts of TxDOT. Her support includes the development of project overview materials, project-related graphics and maps, and the production of the bi-monthly Fort Worth District Partners newsletter.
Christy also assists the Youth Transportation Safety Program where she serves as a Regional Representative for both the Teens in the Driver Seat and U in the Driver Seat programs, assisting with project deployment in North Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
Other responsibilities include participation in area traffic safety coalitions; assistance with the production of research reports; the development of workshop materials, including presentation graphics, participant workbooks and promotional materials; preparation of meeting notes for monthly traffic management team meetings; and assistance with graphics and maps needed to support project work.
