Abstract:
Transporting goods via an all-water route is typically the more economical way for manufacturers and producers. The expansion in 2016 of the Panama Canal has allowed significantly larger cargo ships traveling from East Asia to gain access to the U.S. Gulf and East Coasts by sea. PRC 17-78 examines the potential impacts of the Panama Canal expansion specifically on Texas sea ports.
