Abstract:
This research project is focused on assessing the potential implications of the US-MexicoCanada Agreement (USMCA) on energy trade between the United States and Mexico, and subsequently on the movements at border crossings. The research is divided into two phases. This report presents the results of the first phase. In the first phase, the project team conducted literature review to assess the policy changes that could potentially impact the energy trade between the two countries, collected the relevant data and developed a framework for scenario planning. The results of this report will be used in the second phase to conduct data analysis for exploring the consequences of each scenario for the energy trade and future of transportation at border crossings
