Abstract:
The main objective of this study was to analyze the feasibility of co-locating federal and state inspections at Texas-Mexico border crossings and assess the potential benefits in terms of improving the efficiency of commercial motor vehicle (CMV) traffic flows. A secondary objective of this study was to assess and document to what extent federal and state safety inspection processes duplicate each other and influence average border crossing times.
