Abstract:
This presentation provides guidelines for designing bridge piers and abutments for vehicle collisions. The research covers statistics and simulations of vehicle collisions with photos and videos from real incidents. The second section reviews verification of loads and assumptions of the bridge designs. Researchers surveyed crash sites and ran impact simulations. The presentation covers mathematical crash probability and regression analysis.
