Abstract
Commercial truck platooning is a relatively novel concept in Texas and around the country. This white paper presents the results of a review of state and federal code to identify regulatory and legislative hurdles that may delay or deter platooning operations in the State of Texas. The research team reviewed regulations at both the federal and state level, although the in-depth review of state-level searches focused mainly on Texas measures. It also provides the results of stakeholder interviews focused on identifying liability issues and potential strategies to address those issues.
