What normally draws crowds to Bryan-College Station are the roaring Texas A&M Aggies. However, for two weekends in June, new faces will be attracting a new set of visitors to Aggieland.
With a capacity hold over 100,000 fans, Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field is set to welcome a plethora of soccer fans and country music enthusiasts into its stands—and its surrounding streets—on June 8 and June 15, 2024. Additionally, Olsen Field will host the NCAA baseball super regionals from June 8–10. Looking at busy two weeks, College Station has an exciting lineup of events scheduled:
- June 8: NCAA Super Regional Texas A&M vs. Oregon | 1:00 p.m. CST
- June 8: Brazil vs. Mexico Men’s Soccer Match | Kick-off at 7:30 p.m. CST
- June 9: NCAA Super Regional Texas A&M vs. Oregon | 6:30 p.m. CST
- June 10: NCAA Super Regional Texas A&M vs. Oregon | TBA
- June 15: George Strait “The King at Kyle Field” | 6:00 p.m. CST
With a significant increase in visitors expected over the two-week period, it is important to prepare transportation routes ahead of time to avoid traffic delays. For those attending an event, TTI Traffic Engineer Debbie Albert offers a few tips to help gameday and concert traffic flow more smoothly:
- Purchase your parking in advance. This ensures you get a spot where you want to park and eliminates the need to drive around searching for an open lot.
- Give yourself some extra time. There will be many new visitors to the campus for all three events who are unfamiliar with the traffic and parking operations. Additionally, some lots available for these events are not typically used for football parking, which can cause delays when paying for parking at the gate and finding the best route.
- Pay attention to the signs. Follow instructions for vehicles, wheeled devices and pedestrians, and heed the directions of officers.
- Consider the City of Bryan shuttle. It is the only public on-campus and off-campus shuttle running. It is a great option to park (fees may apply), so take advantage of amenities in Downtown Bryan, and let someone else handle the traffic closer to Kyle Field.
